Vulcan is the distant, yet to be observed, dark star companion of our Sun. It has flavored the human spirit, aided in the manifestion of avatars like Christ and Buddha, and stimulated quasi-periodic bombardment of Earth by comet strikes redirecting the course of human civilization. It is probable that Vulcan is (or is near) an already satellite identified far infra-red source. Vulcan attracts comets from the Oort cloud or Kuiper belt and these form multiple swarms that pass through the inner solar system at quasi-perodic intervals, often impacting Earth. A catalog of past impacts fits predicted estimates. Public verification of Vulcan's existence could save billions of lives. Further, Vulcan offers the prospect of understanding the human propensity for religious wars that have plagued our existence.
